Sounds like a lot of work and time. I understand, but could be wrong, that using a little bit of round up like this doesn't have any soil activity and it takes quite a bit to build up over time. I don't know. I might be inclined to try the green way but if I get on a project like building some new flower beds, I doubt that I would take that long to wait.

A lot of times it's possible to kill the lawn and seeds with heat. While I've never done it or have actually personally seen it done, I have heard about that it is an effective way to kill lawn, weeds, and clear areas to prepare for new flower and planting beds. You simply soak the area real deep, cover it with black plastic and make sure the edges are sealed, and then let it bake in the hot sun for several weeks. I'm not sure how long. You may need to research it a bit. Still, this method is suppose to take care of roots and weed seeds to a good depth.

Great video. Cool design. However, i have an issue with chemicals like roundup. I like to avoid them if possible. Is there another way to kill the grass other than herbicides before you use the sod cutter?
